About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Associate to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant accounting records in line with Australian accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is proactive, deadline-driven, and committed to maintaining strong financial controls and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounts payable process, including accurate invoice processing, timely payments, supplier reconciliations, and prompt resolution of supplier and internal queries.

  • Assist with month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and supporting financial reports.

  • Prepare and reconcile accruals and prepayments to ensure accurate month-end financial statements.

  • Perform daily bank and credit card reconciliations, ensuring correct GST treatment and account coding.

  • Support payroll preparation and processing to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.

  • Ensure all reporting and payment deadlines are consistently met to avoid penalties and maintain the organisations reputation.

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and efficiencies, and assist in implementing enhancements.

  • Provide ad hoc accounting and administrative support as required by the Finance team or management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years accounting experience in a similar role.

  • Working knowledge of Xero accounting software.

  • Experience with Dext and/or Employment Hero is advantageous
