Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, such as lattes, cappuccinos, espresso shots, and iced coffees
  • Provide excellent customer service, including greeting customers, taking orders, and making recommendations
  • Operate and maintain coffee equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewers, ensuring they are in good working condition
  • Follow established recipes and guidelines to ensure consistent product quality
  • Manage and maintain inventory of coffee and other supplies, including milk, syrups, and cups
  • Keep the coffee shop clean and organized, including wiping down counters, tables, and equipment, and sweeping and mopping floors
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, such as setting up and cleaning the shop, and securing the premises
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions, and maintain accurate records of sales
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment
  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a coffee shop or food service environment preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers
  • Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and equipment preferred
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Food handlers permit or willingness to obtain one
