Role and Responsibilities :

  • Assist the Deli Supervisor in managing daily operations, including inventory management, food preparation, and customer service.
  • Prepare and present food according to established standards and customer orders.
  • Ensure food quality by monitoring freshness and implementing procedures to prevent spoilage and waste.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, rotating stock as necessary, and assisting with product orders.
  • Monitor and enforce health and safety standards, including food handling and preparation procedures, equipment maintenance, and sanitation practices.
  • Assist with the cleanliness and organization of the deli department, including storage areas, equipment, and display cases.
  • Participate in departmental and store-wide meetings and training sessions as required.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in food service management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a deli or food service role.
  • Knowledge of deli products, food preparation, and food safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
