Job Summary

The Urban Designer will support the design and planning of sustainable, people-centered urban environments. You will work closely with the Master planning and Architecture team to develop innovative urban solutions that enhance the built environment and improve quality of life.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the design and development of masterplans, public spaces, streetscapes, and urban regeneration projects.
  2. Conduct research and analysis on urban trends, site conditions, and planning policies.
  3. Produce high-quality graphics, diagrams, and reports to communicate design concepts effectively.
  4. Support community engagement initiatives, helping to visualize and communicate ideas to stakeholders.
  5. Work collaboratively with architects, landscape designers, engineers, and planners on multidisciplinary projects.
  6. Use industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, GIS, Revit) to create design presentations and drawings.
  7. Assist in preparing planning and design guidelines, reports, and feasibility studies.
  8. Stay up to date with the best practices in urban design, sustainability, and placemaking.

Skills Required

  1. Strong design and graphic presentation skills.
  2. Proficiency in design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, GIS and Revit, InDesign.
  3. Strong understanding of urban planning principles, sustainability, and placemaking.
  4. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  5. Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Passion for creating vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable urban spaces.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelors or masters degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.

Required Experience

  1. Preferably with a Masters degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, or a related field.
  2. Familiarity with the area urban planning regulations and international best practices.
  1. Prior internship or work experience in urban design, planning, or architecture.
  1. Knowledge of local planning regulations and policies in the middle east.
