Summary
The Marine Technical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing the technical aspects of the marine logistics operations of the company. This role involves ensuring the efficient and safe operation of vessels, maintenance of equipment, compliance with regulations, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The Marine Technical Superintendent plays a key role in optimizing the performance and reliability of the marine fleet.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and implement maintenance and technical strategies for the marine fleet to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Oversee the maintenance and repair activities of vessels, including scheduled maintenance, dry docking, and repairs.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and classification society rules pertaining to marine operations.
.
Coordinate with internal departments, such as operations, procurement, and finance, to ensure the timely availability of necessary resources and support for vessel operations.
.
Collaborate with external stakeholders, including shipyards, suppliers, and contractors, to ensure quality services, timely repairs, and cost-effective solutions.
.
Monitor and analyze vessel performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement measures to enhance fuel efficiency, reliability, and safety.
.
Develop and manage the marine technical budget, including cost control measures and expenditure forecasting.
.
Conduct regular inspections of vessels to ensure adherence to maintenance standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
.
Provide technical guidance and support to the marine operations team, including training and development initiatives.
.
Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes relevant to marine logistics and incorporate them into the company's operations.

Collaborate with the marine safety and environmental teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote a culture of safety.

Participate in incident investigations and develop corrective and preventive actions to address technical issues and improve overall safety performance.

Prepare reports and presentations on technical performance, maintenance activities, and budget analysis for management review.

Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, classification societies, and other industry stakeholders to maintain positive relationships and ensure compliance.
.
Stay informed about emerging technologies and innovative solutions in marine engineering and recommend their implementation when appropriate. Qualifications & Experience
.
Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in marine technical management or a similar role.
.
In-depth knowledge of marine systems, machinery, and equipment, including propulsion systems, electrical systems, and navigation equipment.
.
Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards, such as SOLAS, MARPOL, and classification society rules.
.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
.
Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
.
Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant technical tools.

Familiarity with shipyard practices and dry-docking procedures.
.
Knowledge of marine safety and environmental management systems.

Strong commitment to safety and adherence to industry best practices.

Willingness to travel as required for vessel inspections, meetings, and industry events. Language Skills
