Summary

The Commercial Diver will be responsible for carrying out a variety of underwater tasks and operations to support marine logistics activities. This includes conducting inspections, repairs, maintenance, and construction tasks using specialized diving equipment and techniques, including scuba diving gear. The role is vital in ensuring the integrity and smooth functioning of underwater structures, vessels, and equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform commercial diving operations in compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Conduct underwater inspections of marine structures such as vessels, piers, and docks to evaluate their condition and identify maintenance requirements or damage.

Execute underwater repair, maintenance, and construction tasks, such as welding, cutting, rigging, and equipment installation, utilizing scuba diving gear and other specialized equipment.

.

Operate and maintain scuba diving equipment, including breathing apparatus, underwater tools, video cameras, and communication systems.

.

Adhere to established decompression procedures and safety protocols to ensure personal safety and prevent diving-related accidents.

.

Collaborate with the marine operations team to plan and execute underwater tasks, considering vessel schedules and operational needs.

.

Assist in the installation and maintenance of underwater equipment like mooring systems, pipelines, and underwater sensors.

.

Conduct underwater surveys and mapping to aid in the planning and execution of marine construction and development projects.

.

Document and record underwater activities, including dive logs, inspection reports, photographs, and maintenance records.

.

Monitor environmental conditions, water visibility, and other factors affecting diving operations, reporting any concerns or risks to relevant personnel.

Participate in safety meetings and drills, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and fostering a culture of safety within the diving team.

Maintain and repair diving equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.

Stay up to date with advancements in diving techniques, equipment, and safety procedures, implementing them in work practices as appropriate.

Comply with environmental regulations and best practices to minimize the impact of diving operations on marine ecosystems.

Conduct underwater hull cleaning of vessels structures and barges.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Qualifications & Experience
.
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a recognized commercial diving training program is mandatory.
.
Certification as a commercial diver from a reputable diving association such as the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) or the International Diving Schools Association (IDSA).
.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a commercial diver, preferably within the maritime or marine logistics industry.
.
Proficiency in using diving equipment and tools, including scuba diving gear, underwater welding and cutting equipment, hydraulic tools, and video recording devices.
.
Strong understanding of diving procedures, safety protocols, and emergency response techniques.
.
Knowledge of underwater construction techniques, including rigging, underwater concrete placement, and marine equipment installation.
.
Familiarity with underwater inspection methods and techniques, including non-destructive testing (NDT) and visual inspection procedures.
.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with other divers, vessel crew members, and project supervisors.
.
Physical fitness and the capability to perform physically demanding tasks in various underwater conditions.
.
Proficiency in using underwater communication systems and recording equipment.
.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess and respond to diving-related challenges or emergencies.

Willingness to work in challenging and unpredictable underwater environments, including adverse weather conditions and limited visibility.

Flexibility to adapt to changing work schedules and participate in diving operations during weekends, holidays, or outside regular working hours as required.

Valid first aid and CPR certifications. Language Skills
