Role Summary
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing therapy
programs to support patients in improving their physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to
achieve greater independence in daily activities. The therapist works with children, adults, and
the elderly in various healthcare, educational, or rehabilitation settings.
Key Responsibilities
Assess patients functional abilities, needs, and challenges using
standardized evaluation tools.
Develop individualized therapy plans to address motor, sensory, cognitive,
and psychosocial needs.
Implement therapeutic interventions and monitor patient progress regularly.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and
adaptive strategies.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, physiotherapists,
and speech therapists, to optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and
progress notes.
Ensure compliance with Bahrains healthcare regulations and occupational
therapy standards.
Participate in professional development programs to maintain current
knowledge and skills.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited
institution.
Licensed or eligible for licensure in Bahrain (e.g., Ministry of Health
registration).
Strong assessment and treatment planning skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
