JOB SUMMARY

Courteously and efficiently answer In Room Dining phone, take and input guests orders, ensure receipt of orders by Servers and settle checks in the Micros system according to hotel specifications. Process payment of guest checks in accordance with accounting requirements and maintain accountability for all financial transactions


RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of the role include:

Essential Job Functions:

1) Maintain complete knowledge of:

  • All liquor brands, beer and non alcoholic selections available through Villas
  • All menu items, preparation method/time ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, preparation and prices
  • Hotel extension numbers.
  • VIPs in House/Daily house count, arrivals/departures.
  • Hours of operation of each outlet, ambiance, menu selections and price range.
  • Features and services provided by the hotel.

2) Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by State liquor regulations.

3) Be familiar with the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.

4) Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies. Obtain change require for expected business level. Keep bank secure at all times.

5) Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies, forms and resource material, maintain cleanliness at all times. Report shortages to supervisor.

6) Answer In Room Dining phone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.

7) Maintain positive attitude at all times

8) Take guests food and beverage orders utilizing suggestive selling techniques and following all departmental standards

9) Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly.

10) Accommodate all requests for information courteously.

11) Communicate VIP arrivals and special requests to designated personnel for follow up.

12) Handle guest complaints by following the instant pacification procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.

13) Monitor the standards of service and addresses any challenges to respective persons.

14) Complete closing duties as assigned.

15) Successful completion of the training/certification process.

16) Organize, input and distribute advance orders according to departmental procedures

17) Assist and oversee IRD Servers in their job functions as specified in departmental standards

18) Pay out tips to designated staff and document such, following accounting and legal requirements

19) Review business status and follow up actions with on-coming Order Taker/Cashier or Supervisor

20) Attend all mandatory trainings

21) Successful completion of the training/certification process

PROFILE

Experience

  • 2 years experience in similar position dealing with guests
  • Previous experience in cashiering and order taking

Education

  • High School Degree

Required Skills

  • Ability to communicate with proper grammar in English.
  • Ability to provide legible communication.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Certification of previous training in computers, food, liquor & wine
  • Reasonable understanding of the Arabic language.
  • Computer Skills

  • High accuracy in data collection and feedback reports
  • Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for restaurant clientele.
  • Certification in alcohol awareness program

  • Ability to deal with different level of guests
  • Ability to think clearly, quickly, maintain concentration and make concise decisions in pressure situations and in noisy environment with high pedestrian traffic

  • Ability to suggestively sell selected food and beverage items and actively up sell any ongoing promotions in the Hotel
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Ability to provide clear, pleasant telephone communication with proper grammar.
  • Ability to remain stationary at assigned post when specified.
  • Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
