POSITION SUMMARY
A hostess is the first point of contact for guests and plays a crucial role in creating a warm, welcoming, and seamless dining experience. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with the team to ensure guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. The Hostess acts as a key link between guests, front-of-house staff, and management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Guest Engagement
Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
Handle guest inquiries, delicate requests, or complaints with diplomacy and ensure prompt resolution.
Recognize VIP guests and communicate their preferences to the team.
Build positive relationships with guests and ensure their experience exceeds expectations.
Team Coordination & Support
Collaborate with waiters, runners, and supervisors to ensure smooth service flow.
Assist in guiding guests to their tables and managing seating arrangements efficiently.
Support staff during busy periods, including helping clear tables or manage waitlists.
Communicate guest feedback and preferences to the team for personalized service.
Reservations & Floor Management
Manage bookings and walk-in reservations in accordance with brand standards.
Maintain an organized seating chart and monitor table turnover.
Coordinate with management on special events, private bookings, and VIP arrangements.
Ensure the reception and waiting areas are tidy, welcoming, and organized at all times.
Operations & Quality
Uphold brand standards for guest interaction and service delivery.
Ensure accurate communication of daily specials, menu changes, or promotions to guests.
Monitor guest satisfaction, providing updates to management as needed.
Report any operational or guest-related issues that may impact service quality.
Teamwork & Communication
Act as a bridge between management and front-of-house staff.
Provide feedback to management regarding guest flow, seating, or service challenges.
Assist in preparing staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage.
Foster a friendly, cooperative, and professional team environment.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills and Qualifications
Previous experience in a front-of-house or hospitality role preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in reservation systems or POS systems is a plus.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
