Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized inventory of cutting tools, fixtures, gauges, and spare parts
  • Issue and track tooling to production operators and return items to proper storage
  • Perform basic machining operations to fabricate simple parts and modify existing tooling
  • Sharpen, recondition, and inspect cutting tools to maintain quality standards
  • Assist Tool & Die Makers with assembly, fitting, and benchwork tasks
  • Conduct regular audits of tooling condition and recommend replacements
  • Maintain toolroom cleanliness and organize storage systems

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; technical coursework in machining or manufacturing preferred
  • 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
  • Basic machining skills (lathe, mill, surface grinder)
  • Ability to read simple blueprints and use precision measuring instruments
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
