About the job Toolroom Technician
Responsibilities
- Maintain organized inventory of cutting tools, fixtures, gauges, and spare parts
- Issue and track tooling to production operators and return items to proper storage
- Perform basic machining operations to fabricate simple parts and modify existing tooling
- Sharpen, recondition, and inspect cutting tools to maintain quality standards
- Assist Tool & Die Makers with assembly, fitting, and benchwork tasks
- Conduct regular audits of tooling condition and recommend replacements
- Maintain toolroom cleanliness and organize storage systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; technical coursework in machining or manufacturing preferred
- 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
- Basic machining skills (lathe, mill, surface grinder)
- Ability to read simple blueprints and use precision measuring instruments
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
