About the job Automation Technician
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair automated production equipment including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and actuators
- Perform preventive maintenance on automated systems to minimize unplanned downtime
- Assist with programming and configuration of PLCs, HMIs, and variable frequency drives
- Install and wire new automation components including sensors, motors, and control panels
- Monitor system performance and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency
- Maintain documentation for control systems including wiring diagrams and program backups
- Support engineering projects involving new automation system deployments
Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Automation, Industrial Electronics, or Electrical Technology
- 0–2 years of experience with industrial automation systems
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent)
- Understanding of electrical theory, motor controls, and industrial wiring practices
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
