- To receive project brief from Principal Engineer/ Associate (C&S) or from Project Manager and accordingly develop scope matrix along with project execution strategy for effective implementation of the project.
- Liaise with and lead other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the Clients objectives.
- Plan and Implement the Civil and Structural Engineering activities on projects and tenders under the direction of the Principal Engineer/ Associate C&S.
- As the team develops you will mentor junior engineers, graduates, and technicians.
- Managing your own commercial projects, monitor project cost, variation, and invoicing.
- As part of MSCEB Knowledge Transfer strategy give regular technical presentation to the team to enhance their technical knowledge.
- Assist in leading multi-discipline building engineering professionals including junior to senior level staff. Coordinates departmental personnel, equipment and technical experts across the company to complete assigned projects within schedule and budget constraints.
- Make Site visits and attend meetings with Client and other consultants in regard to new C&S project enquiries, as and when directed by the Director/ Associate Director/ Associate / Principal Engineer (C&S).
- Coordinate with Peer Review Team by providing the peer reviewer with required documents in a timely manner, in order to fulfill the QA/QC procedures implemented from time to time.
- Assist in Planning & implement the resources for execution of design work as per the schedule approved by seniors.
- Review and assist in preparation of design of structures as per codes and standards.
- Develop Concept Design, Preliminary Design, Detailed Design for the projects with close collaboration with Principal Engineer.
- Preparation of calculations and specifications and provide all markup to Cad Tech to produce working drawings
- Coordinate with other trades/disciplines for the project activities. Checking of structural drawings, checking of drawings of other disciplines vis-à-vis structural design and details.
- Coordinate with Peer Review Team by providing the peer reviewer with required documents in a timely manner, in order to fulfill the QA/QC procedures implemented from time to time.
- Conduct Peer Review on projects as and when assigned by Director/ Associate Director/ Associate / Principal Engineer (C&S).
- Discuss the comments with Director/ Associate Director/ Associate / Principal Engineer (C&S).and the designer and ensure compliance to comments into the drawings and design calculations prior to submission.
- Appraise and discuss with Principal Engineer (C&S) all the design issues on various projects being designed/dealt on a regular basis as per the agreed weekly schedule for discussion.
- Discuss and agree with the peer on comments, and ensure compliance as required, prior to releasing the drawings and calculation documents for submission.
- Document all calculations in electronic and hard copy format as applicable and maintain a Design document records for reference and archiving after completion of the project.
- Coordinate with Manager (Quality Assurance) and Project Manager (Construction Administration) for quality management and monitoring during the design and construction supervision.
- Participate regularly in the project technical co-ordination meetings.
- Attend to the site queries received from Project Manager (Construction Administration). Review specific submittals if requested during construction period.
- Participate in Technical Literature Collation for C&S Library Resource and Technical Literature Review, as and when required.
- Identify and impart on-job training to the assisting staff and local staff.
- Participate in in-house refresher course initiatives and prepare lecture and training materials for departmental requirements as and when required.
- In-depth technical knowledge of Structural Engineering with particular reference to Structural Steelwork, Structural Concrete and associated Structural Analysis and Design/Detailing Software Constructability Assessment.
- In-depth technical knowledge and experience of European/ British /US-based design codes/standards and Statutory Regulations.
- Ability to develop elegant technically sound Structural Engineering solutions in close collaboration with other specialists and design discipline.
- High-Rise building and any associated Dynamic and Seismic analysis
- Project Risk Assessment: Assess the project holistically and identify project risk and discuss with Principal Engineer to develop strategy to mitigate any perceived risk.
- Should have knowledge about Constructability Assessment to ensure that the design is buildable.
- All design should be efficient and identify any items where value engineering can be implemented.
- Having extensive experience in various sectors such as Retail, Hotel, Commercial and Residential.
- Should have capability of performing technical evaluation of tenders independently where possible but seek guidance from Principal Engineer if necessary.
- The individual must have highly developed skillset in the utilization of the following software and MUST have the right level of aptitude to provide validation calculations.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural team environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications & software indicated in section 1.10.
- Fully conversant with international standards, codes and practices related to structural design.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationship.
- Should be able to work on fast-track projects and deliver as per project schedule.
- Proficient in handling the project operations entailing planning, resource utilization, quality management & manpower management.
- Complete understanding of constructability, operability and maintainability requirements

Job Summary
A Senior Structural Engineer is specialized in designing and analyzing various structures. They provide detailed calculations about the strength and stability of structures. A Senior Structural Engineer is required to work in collaboration with other departments to ensure fully coordinated design. Additionally, coordinate with client and other people for project activity and resolve any query. A senior structural engineer is expected to have high level of technical knowledge which is reinforced by fully utilization various softwares like Etabs, SAP, SAFE, etc and working knowledge of REVIT/CAD.
