Position Overview:

The Kitchen Steward plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of all kitchen and back-of-house areas at the Royal Saray Resort. The position ensures that all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes are cleaned efficiently and safely, supporting the culinary team in delivering the highest standards of food service and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, and pans according to hygiene standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen and back-of-house areas, including floors, walls, and storage spaces.
  • Ensure that all cleaning schedules and checklists are completed as per resort standards.
  • Handle and operate dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment safely and correctly.
  • Properly dispose of waste and follow recycling and environmental guidelines.
  • Assist chefs and kitchen staff by ensuring availability of clean utensils and cooking tools.
  • Report any equipment malfunction or maintenance requirement to the Chief Steward.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Support in receiving and storing kitchen supplies as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the culinary team and overall resort operations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward or in a similar role preferred (hospitality experience is an advantage).
  • Basic understanding of hygiene and safety standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and able to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
