About the job Kitchen Commis
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning according to recipes.
- Assist chefs in cooking, seasoning, and plating dishes as instructed.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations, kitchen equipment, and utensils.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients and food items.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Assist in inventory management and report shortages or damages to the supervisor.
- Support senior kitchen staff during busy service periods.
- Handle kitchen tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Participate in the preparation of daily specials and menu items.
- Adhere to hotel policies, grooming standards, and kitchen safety regulations.
Qualifications Required:
- High school education or equivalent; Diploma in Culinary Arts preferred.
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Commis or in a similar kitchen role preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and hygiene standards.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work under supervision.
- Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long hours.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Professional grooming and adherence to hotel standards.
Salary : BD 350/- for 9 Hrs Shift including Meal Break
