About the job Finance Assistant
Job Purpose
To support the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with daily accounting tasks, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. The Finance Assistant will play a key role in supporting operational efficiency, timely reporting, and smooth financial operations of the bank.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including data entry, bank reconciliations, and invoice processing.
Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
Support the preparation of financial reports, statements, and regulatory submissions as required by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB).
Monitor and reconcile petty cash and support cash management activities.
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions and ensure timely payments.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Maintain accurate financial records in line with bank policies and accounting standards. Assist in the preparation of budget tracking, forecasts, and variance analysis.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial documentation and cross-functional support.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the banks internal controls and compliance requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
13 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in the banking sector.
Knowledge of IFRS and Central Bank of Bahrain regulations is an advantage.
Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good command of English and Arabic (preferred).
