About the job Facility Technician – Mechanical
OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE
Under the supervision of the Head of maintenance, you will carry mechanical maintenance across the facility and surrounding areas, with a primary focus on mechanical systems (wave generator, power distribution, controls). You will also provide electrical-fitter support and basic water-management assistance. The role includes routine facility maintenance to keep guest and back-of-house areas safe, reliable, and compliant.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform maintenance of the mechanical components of Wavegarden generator systems, water system maintenance and water quality control.
Manage and maintain the water system's mechanical equipment (pumps, strainers, filters, valves) and Assist water-management tasks (basic testing support, cleaning of strainers, monitoring of levels/flows/pressures).
Perform facility maintenance includes PPM and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment: pumps, gearboxes/bearings, seals, coupling, valves, and piping, HVAC system.
Assist on basic electrical tasks related to electromechanical equipment under safe isolation procedures.
Maintain and support the mechanical aspects of the Wavegarden/wave generator system, including inspections, lubrication, alignment, and replacement of wear parts.
Coordinate with Operations, Aquatics/Lifeguards, and other departments to minimize downtime and guest impact.
Provide first-response technical support during downtime caused by mechanical failures; execute root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Ensure all tasks follow safe working practices and Bahrain Surf Park Safety Policies.
Ensure compliance with maintenance procedures, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
Report recurring defects, system anomalies, or equipment risks to HOD immediately.
Qualifications

Diploma or an equivalent vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
.
Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial environment General technician/maintenance technician.
.
Experience in a water park, aquatic facility, resort, or leisure environment is an advantage. (Experience with Middle Eastern culture and working environment is a plus)
.
Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude with proficiency in hand/power tools, machinery and precision instruments (alignment tools, torque wrenches, vernier callipers).
.
Knowledge of water treatment is plus.
Professional Skills Attributes

Basic administrative skills, and computer literacy.

Capable of working independently as well in team.

Good command of English (Arabic is an advantage)

Basic knowledge of HVAC.
