Sous Baker

Position: Sous Baker Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Baker to join our team. The Sous Baker will be responsible for assisting the Head Baker in all aspects of baking, including preparing, mixing, shaping, and baking a variety of breads, pastries, and other baked goods. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and a strong understanding of baking techniques and ingredients. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the Head Baker in all aspects of baking, including preparing, mixing, shaping, and baking a variety of breads, pastries, and other baked goods - Follow recipes and measurements accurately to ensure consistency and quality of products - Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure proper cooking and baking - Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients - Assist in inventory management and ordering of baking supplies - Train and supervise junior baking staff, providing guidance and support as needed - Collaborate with the Head Baker to develop new recipes and menu items - Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines - Assist with decorating and finishing baked goods as needed - Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced environment - Other duties as assigned by the Head Baker or management team Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent - Minimum of 2 years experience in a professional baking environment - Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients - Ability to read and follow recipes accurately - Excellent time management and multitasking skills - Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with coworkers and management - Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines - Creative and innovative mindset - Culinary degree or certification in baking/pastry arts is a plus We offer competitive salary and benefits packages, as well as opportunities for growth and advancement within our company.
