Position: Sous Chef

Job Overview:

The Sous Chef will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee the daily operations of the kitchen. They will be responsible for assisting in menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring the overall quality and consistency of all dishes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and a creative approach to cooking.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food costing

- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating

- Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition

- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction

- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new and innovative dishes to keep the menu fresh and exciting

- Assist with inventory management and ordering of food and supplies

- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in a high-volume restaurant

- Culinary degree or equivalent experience and training

- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Excellent leadership and communication skills

- Creative and innovative approach to cooking

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
