Position: Head Baker Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Baker to lead our bakery team and oversee all aspects of our baking operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and a creative flair, as well as strong leadership and organizational skills. As the Head Baker, you will be responsible for creating and executing our bakery menu, managing inventory and supplies, and ensuring the highest quality of baked goods for our customers. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute a variety of baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, and other specialty items - Create and maintain a rotating menu to keep offerings fresh and exciting - Manage inventory and ordering of supplies to ensure adequate stock levels - Train and supervise bakery staff, including bakers, pastry chefs, and assistants - Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines - Oversee the production and presentation of all baked goods, ensuring they meet our high standards for taste and appearance - Collaborate with other departments, such as the front of house and kitchen, to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of baked goods - Stay current on industry trends and make recommendations for menu updates and improvements - Manage budget and control costs, including labor and ingredient expenses - Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to team members - Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and guidelines Qualifications: - 3+ years of experience as a Head Baker or similar role, preferably in a high-volume bakery or restaurant setting - Extensive knowledge of baking techniques and methods, as well as a strong understanding of ingredients and flavors - Creative and innovative mindset, with the ability to develop new and unique recipes - Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team - Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and communicate effectively with staff and customers - Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations and procedures - Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed - Culinary degree or certification in baking and pastry arts is a plus We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for growth and development within our company.
