About the job Accountant - Trade Finance & Receivables
Role Purpose
To manage trade finance activities and customer receivables, ensure accurate account records, support banking documentation, and maintain smooth cash flow and compliance for the business.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Finance & Banking Coordination
Handle Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, Documentary Collections, Trust Receipts, and Bills Discounting.
Prepare and submit complete banking documents (invoice, BL/AWB, packing list, COO, insurance, certificates) in line with UCP 600 / ICC guidelines.
Track LC validity, shipment timelines, amendments, and avoid document discrepancies.
Coordinate with banks for LC / BG issuance, extensions, proceeds negotiation, and trade facility utilization.
Support treasury in managing banking relationships, charges, and documentation requirements.
Accounts Receivable & Customer Statements
Prepare and maintain customer account statements and reconciliations.
Monitor Aging Reports and follow up for timely collections.
Coordinate with Sales teams to resolve billing disputes, retentions, and variations.
Ensure correct posting of bank transfers, cheques, LCs, Trust Receipts and other receipts.
Maintain complete documentation for audit, VAT, and regulatory compliance within Bahrain / GCC.
ERP & Reporting
Work on ERP systems for billing, receipts, credit notes, and reconciliations.
Generate receivable reports, customer statements, and management summaries.
Maintain strong internal controls and support internal / external audits.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors Degree in Finance / Accounting.
5–10+ years experience in Trade Finance & Receivables; preference for HVAC / Manufacturing / Projects environment.
Experience with GCC banking practices and trade finance operations.
- Completion of CDCS certification is preferred
Strong ERP knowledge.
