Job Title: Fleet Safety Specialist / Quality Control Inspector

Position Overview:

The Quality Checker is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, and service quality across the companys transport operations — including staff and school transportation services. The role involves regular inspection of vehicles, monitoring driver performance, verifying safety and camera systems, and ensuring complete compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Vehicle Inspection & Safety Monitoring

  • Conduct daily and periodic inspections of all transport vehicles to ensure roadworthiness, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
  • Verify that in-vehicle cameras, GPS tracking systems, and safety alarms are operational at all times.
  • Check seatbelts, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and emergency exits for readiness.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and servicing are completed as per the approved schedule.
  • Report mechanical faults or safety lapses to the Transport Supervisor for corrective action.

2. Staff & School Transportation Quality Control

  • Oversee daily pick-up and drop-off activities for school children and staff, ensuring punctuality, discipline, and safety.
  • Confirm that children are properly supervised, seated, and dropped at the designated locations as per the approved route plan.
  • Conduct random field inspections to ensure proper driver conduct, vehicle cleanliness, and passenger safety.
  • Ensure adherence to the agreed schedule, route, and safety protocols during all transport operations.

3. Driver Compliance & Behavioral Standards

  • Verify that all drivers hold valid driving licenses and comply with traffic and company rules.
  • Check drivers attire, grooming, and general behaviour, ensuring they project professionalism and discipline.
  • Carry out random alcohol or intoxication checks, immediately reporting any violations.
  • Ensure that drivers maintain proper logs and rest periods to prevent fatigue-related risks.

4. GPS & Fuel Monitoring

  • Regularly monitor the GPS tracking system to verify route compliance, trip start/stop times, and idling duration.
  • Report any deviation from the assigned routes or misuse of vehicles.
  • Track and analyze fuel consumption patterns for each vehicle and driver to identify abnormalities or inefficiencies.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on fuel economy and trip performance to management.

5. Safety & Training

  • Conduct and support driver safety briefings and toolbox talks on safe driving, vehicle handling, and emergency procedures.
  • Participate in organizing regular safety training sessions for all transport staff, including school bus drivers and attendants.
  • Ensure compliance with internal HSE policies and transport safety procedures.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed inspection reports, vehicle condition logs, and safety checklists.
  • Document findings from camera, GPS, and route verifications for management review.
  • Report deviations, incidents, or passenger complaints promptly and follow up on corrective actions.

7. Coordination & Quality Improvement

  • Liaise with school coordinators, HR departments, and transport schedulers to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Recommend improvements in routes, schedules, and safety systems.
  • Support the Transport Manager in implementing ISO, internal audit, and compliance standards related to transport services.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma / ITI in Automobile, Mechanical, or Transport Management (preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in fleet inspection, transport operations, or school/staff transport quality control.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems, GPS and CCTV monitoring, safety inspections, and fuel management.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP-based transport tracking systems.

Valid driving license mandatory.
