JOB DESCRIPTION – COMPLIANCE OFFICER & MLRO
Reporting to: BOD (Head Office) and Functionally to Country Head – Bahrain.
Job responsibilities of the captioned personnel would include the following.
1.
Oversee and manage the regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering regime of the company operations in Bahrain.
2.
To set up policies and procedures in line with the legal and regulatory requirements of the Kingdom.
3.
To set up and monitor a compliance program that shall include all the applicable rules and regulations.
4.
To set up and monitor the AML/CFT/Fraud prevention program for the branch operations.
5.
Includes all statutory responsibilities of the MLRO as defined in the FC module of the rulebook volume 3.
6.
To train the employees on all compliance aspects including AML & CFT.
7.
Producing periodic compliance monitoring reports to the management of the company.
8.
Shall act as the first line of defense of the company in the face of Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism regime.
9.
Shall strictly adhere to all internal controls, policies and procedures of the company with respect to compliance with the AML/CFT requirements established by the company.
10.
Fully utilize the AML/CFT learning venues provided by the Company and shall upgrade their knowledge on the subject matter.
11.
In charge of identifying initial AML/CFT risks and report it to the Compliance team vide the Internal SAR/STR program.
12.
Maintain strict secrecy and shall not tip-off the customer(s) with any information that would indicate that the latter are being investigated or is reported to the authorities.
13.
KYC would be the primary responsibility and would establish the true identity of the customer by obtaining necessary supporting documents.
14.
Fully adhere to the records keeping requirements and shall systematically store the customer records.
15.
Identify high risk customers and shall seek the management approvals for their acceptance as customers.
16.
The aforementioned also includes PEP customers, where the Business units shall ensure that Senior Management approval is obtained from the respective business head prior to onboarding the customer
Any and all other responsibilities that shall be directly and indirectly related to the legal and regulatory good standing of the company in Bahrain.
