About the job CHIEF OF STAFF
Overview
The Chief of Staff (CoS) acts as a strategic and operational partner to the senior leadership, ensuring alignment, execution, and performance across the Data Centre business.
The role is responsible for driving strategic initiatives, improving cross-functional coordination, delivering special projects and enabling disciplined execution across real estate, construction, operations, finance, sales, and renewable technology.
The CoS serves as a force multiplier for the leadership —translating strategy into action, managing priorities, and ensuring the organisation operates with speed, clarity, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities - Primary
Board Support
Prepare briefings, board materials, and strategic presentations.
Coordinate board and executive meetings, ensuring clear agendas, decisions, and follow-up actions.
Arrange and manage weekly leadership team meetings.
Investor & JV Relations
Prepare briefings, investment committee packs, and monthly newsletters for Investors and Joint Venture parties.
Coordinate investor and joint venture party update meetings and social occasions.
Assist with any new Joint Venture negotiations including document production (MOUs, SPAs, presentations etc).
Strategic Planning & Execution
Support the leadership in defining and executing corporate strategy, including portfolio growth, capacity expansion, market entry, M&A, and partnerships.
Drive strategic initiatives across data centre development, operations, and commercial functions, monitoring execution progress and proactively resolve blockers.
Stakeholder & Communication Management
Act as a key liaison between the internal leadership, investors, customers, and strategic partners.
Drive clear, consistent communication across the organisation.
Real Estate
Assist team with site selection process – both new build and existing data centre stock.
Project manage the production of all Real Estate due diligence related reports, Gateway papers, investment committee reports etc.
Special Projects
Project manage high-impact, cross-functional initiatives – for example these could include real estate site selection, new data centre fit outs, sustainability programs, M&A integration etc.
Provide helicopter oversight of Build / Construction projects – over-seeing the internal and external delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities - Secondary
Business Performance & Analytics
Establish and track KPIs across various items as agreed by leadership team – such as ISO, capacity utilisation, average sales rates, energy efficiency, customer SLAs, financial performance, build cost per KW, yield on cost, project delivery etc.
Analyse performance trends and provide insights and recommendations to the leadership team.
Procurement
Project manage the internal procurement team / committee to deliver projects on time, on budget (team includes CFO, Head of Operations, Chairman & CEO).
Provide oversight (monitoring) on any large scale construction / fit out project (>500k).
Resourcing
Project manage the external consultants and in-house HR team to secure new senior appointments.
