About the Opportunity

The Chief of Staff (CoS) is a pivotal senior leader who partners directly with the Chief Executive Officer to drive organizational alignment, talent strategy, and strategic execution across Intrepid College Prep.

This is a unique moment for Intrepid. Under new executive leadership, the organization is strengthening systems, investing in people, and aligning strategy for its next decade of growth. The Chief of Staff will play a central role in that evolution - serving as an integrator, thought partner, and culture carrier who helps the CEO and leadership team translate vision into action.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in human capital strategy, cross-functional leadership, and organizational effectiveness - and will thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where relationships, judgment, and follow-through matter.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & CEO Partnership

  • Serve as a principal advisor to the CEO, providing insight, analysis, and coordination across organizational priorities.
  • Manage executive team rhythms - weekly meetings, leadership retreats, and quarterly planning - to ensure clarity, accountability, and alignment.
  • Translate strategic goals into measurable outcomes, milestones, and reporting systems.
  • Prepare materials, communications, and presentations that keep staff, board, and stakeholders aligned on progress.

Human Capital & Culture

  • Lead and integrate Intrepid’s People Operations and Talent functions aligning recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and performance management systems across schools.
  • Oversee HR operations, including payroll, compliance, benefits, and employee data systems, ensuring efficient, accurate, and employee-centered processes.
  • Partner with school and network leaders to develop emerging leaders and sustain a healthy, feedback-driven adult culture grounded in trust, growth, and accountability.

External Affairs & Development

  • Oversee strategic communications, marketing, and branding to strengthen Intrepid’s visibility and enrollment pipeline.
  • Support the CEO with fundraising, partnership cultivation, and grant management.
  • Craft clear, consistent messaging that reflects Intrepid’s mission, impact, and community voice.

Organizational Effectiveness & Project Management

  • Design and implement cross-functional initiatives that improve systems, streamline operations, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead special projects on behalf of the CEO - from strategic planning to school support - ensuring timelines, deliverables, and communication stay on track.
  • Build light-weight tools and dashboards that help leaders make data-informed decisions.

Finance, Operations & Governance Support

  • Partner with the Operations and Finance teams on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic resource allocation.
  • Coordinate materials for board meetings and ensure effective follow-up on board decisions.
  • Support compliance and charter reporting requirements in partnership with the CEO and Operations Director.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • 6+ years of progressive leadership experience in K12 education, nonprofit management, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Demonstrated success managing talent systems, HR operations, or people-strategy initiatives.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects or serving as a strategic advisor to senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication, project-management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Deep belief in the potential of all students and alignment with Intrepid’s mission and values.

  • Build strong working relationships with the CEO, school leaders, and staff.
  • Strengthen alignment across human-capital systems and organizational priorities.
  • Establish clear communication rhythms and transparency across teams.
  • Support strategic planning for 2026 and beyond, ensuring coherence between academic, operational, and people strategies.

Compensation & Benefits

The Chief of Staff is on the same salary scale as the Principal role, with a range of $90,000 $147,157, based on years of relevant experience.
