KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Manage and maintain City hospital facilities, clinical infrastructure, and assets.
  • Lead the maintenance team to ensure the timely and effective completion of all allocated tasks and responsibilities.
  • Optimize the maintenance function according to JMH Group procedures, enhancing staff performance and quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage technical procurement, expenditure, and departmental budgets.
  • Oversee contractor performance and ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Implement and enforce Joint Medical Holdings policies, procedures, and risk controls.
  • Audit and ensure compliance of the maintenance systems.
  • Plan and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related legislation.
  • Act as safety custodian during technical works and small building projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
  • Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports on facilities, assets, staff, and contractors.
  • Participate in hospital and interdepartmental meetings with a focus on safety and infection control.
  • Support training and succession planning in collaboration with HR.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  • A Mechanical/Electrical/ Engineering degree
  • Electrical Trade Test
  • Management course/ certification advantageous.
  • Wiremans Licence
  • 5-7 years experience working in a complex maintenance
    environment.
  • Experience gathered in a Hospital/ Healthcare environment
    preferable.
  • Possess extensive and well-rounded experience in maintenance
    work.
  • Supervisory experience in building operations.

SKILLS

Understanding of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality
guidelines, procedures and responsibilities.
Thorough knowledge of the techniques, procedures and processes
used for the efficient operation of building services and good
knowledge of construction practices.
Ability to prioritise and have strong attention to detail.
Basic record keeping skills.
Excellent organisational and follow-up skills.
Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and
decision making.
Expertise in conflict resolution and maintaining smooth
departmental workflows.
