About the job ENROLLED NURSING ASSISTANT - THEATRE

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To Provides age-appropriate patient care according to the nursing scope of practice as defined by the South African Nursing Council (SANC).

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Must be able to practice within your scope of practice as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant
  • Must be compliant with the Hospitals Policies and Regulations
  • Must be efficient in preparation of a theatre according to theatre standards
  • Must be efficient in circulating and have a knowledge of anaesthetic practices in an operating theatre
  • Must remain competent in the hospital environmental and infection control practices
  • Provision of quality patient care throughout the peri-operative journey
  • Equipment verification, care and storage within the theatre complex
  • Accurately complete all relevant nursing documentation

COMPETENCIES (The following will be advantageous)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

(Educational Qualifications & Experience)

  • Matric is essential.
  • Must be registered with SANC as an Enrolled Nurse Assistant.
  • Preferably have two or more years of experience as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant in Theatre.

Must be prepared to work long hours and flexibility is required.

SKILLS
(Practical & Technical)

  • Must have excellent telephone skills.
  • Must possess excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently under minimum supervision.
  • Excellent observation skills.
  • Must be computer literate
