KEY PERFORMANACE AREA
- Develop and implement a Group-wide Patient Services and Revenue Cycle strategy aligned with the organisation's financial and operational objectives.
- Optimise the end-to-end revenue cycle, including pre-admissions, authorisations, case management, billing, and collections, to improve cash flow, reduce debtor days, and enhance collection rates.
- Design and standardise a seamless patient administrative journey, improving communication with patients regarding funding, co-payments, and billing transparency.
- Identify and implement digital innovations and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency within patient services.
- Ensure compliance with medical scheme regulations, POPIA, healthcare funding rules, and internal governance and audit requirements.
- Implement controls and monitoring mechanisms to reduce revenue leakage and improve billing accuracy.
- Establish and monitor Group performance indicators, including debtor days, authorisation turnaround times, collection ratios, and patient satisfaction scores.
- Oversee and standardise admissions, case management and debtors processes across all facilities to ensure operational consistency and efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with medical schemes, managed care organisations, clinicians, and hospital management teams.
- Provide leadership and development to patient services teams, fostering a high-performance, patient-centric culture aligned with organisational goals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric
- Bachelor's degree (NQF Level 7) or equivalent qualification
- Alternatively, a Diploma with 8–10 years' relevant experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of medical schemes and healthcare funding processes.
- Strong expertise in revenue cycle management, including admissions, authorisations, case management, billing, and collections.
- Experience in case management and overseeing patient care coordination.
- Proficiency with hospital billing systems and related healthcare IT platforms.
