About the project: Techween
Techween: Cultivating a Thriving Community of Tech Talent in Jordan is a four-year project funded by DROSOS Foundation aims to address the skills gap in Jordans ICT sector by working with young people to enhance their practical experience, collaborative learning opportunities, and pathways into the tech labour market. The project focuses on three main tracks:
- Networks: Building an engaged national community of tech enthusiasts.
- Tech Guilds: Creating specialised communities of practice in key tech fields.
- OpenLab: Offering apprenticeship-style experience and mentorship linked to real-world projects.
Role Purpose:
The Project Manager leads the day-to-day implementation of Techween
project, making sure that activities are delivered on time, on budget,
and to quality standards, and that all outputs contribute effectively to
the projects objectives. The position requires strong coordination,
stakeholder engagement, and monitoring skills, as well as the ability to
translate plans into results in a dynamic multi-partner environment.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, plan and oversee the entire project lifecycle including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and and reporting calendars.
- Coordinate the design and execution of educational programs, hackathons, competitions, bootcamps, and workshops.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders, including projects partners, universities, student clubs (IEEE, ACM, etc.), and local/international tech organizations.
- Supervise the implementation of student apprenticeship and contribution programs, ensuring measurable outcomes.
- Close coordination and follow-up with the MEAL consultant, to monitor project progress using clear metrics and evaluation frameworks, preparing regular reports for management and donors.
- Facilitate effective internal communication and coordination with JOSAs Community, Programs, and Communications teams.
- Ensure proper documentation and knowledge sharing, capturing lessons learned for future initiatives.
- Represent JOSA in external events, community meetings, and conferences, promoting the projects achievements.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks and challenges that could impact delivery.
- Support in the reporting process, inclduing internal and donor reporting.
- Support in fundraising and proposal writing related to the project, if required.
- Carry any project-related recruitment required.
- Other project-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong commitment to JOSAs mission and values around Open Source, community collaboration, and tech education.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant project or programme management experience, ideally in the ICT, nonprofit, or education sector.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
- Previous experience coordinating with student clubs, tech communities, or nonprofit organizations is highly desirable.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or related fields.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum) is a plus.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Familiarity with Open Source principles and community dynamics is preferred.
REPORTING
The Project Manager reports directly to the Programme Coordinator and collaborates closely with JOSAs Community and Programs teams.
