About the job Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Hematology
Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants work collaboratively as a part of a multidisciplinary team and operate with a high level of autonomy. In this role, you will provide a comprehensive patient assessment, ordering and interpreting of appropriate laboratory tests and radiologic exams, diagnosis, treatment and management of chemotherapy side effects, and medical co-morbidities. You will be expected to manage side effects and complications from underlying co-morbidities, hematologic disease, and therapy, while collaborating with a Hematologist. You will consult and make referrals to physicians and other members of the health care team as appropriate and coordinate discharge planning. In addition, you will provide educational support to patients and their families.
The Hematology hospital practice is a 24/7 work unit. Scheduling is blocked into quarterly schedules (4 quarters per year) with a requirement of 4 weekends per quarter and 2 holidays per year. Flexible scheduling, which incorporates opportunity to trade shifts inclusive of weekends and holidays, as well as a self-scheduling model that supports work-life balance. New staff will be trained during daytime hours for their first 9-12 months prior to transitioning to overnight coverage. Additional financial compensation is provided for evening, weekend, and night coverage.

Benefit-eligible employees (50-100% FTE) receive up to 7 trip days (commensurate with time away from practice as approved off the schedule by a supervisor) and an annual allotment of $4,400.

Compensation
Compensation is based off of education and experience. The base salary for this position ranges from $122,000.00 to $170,000.00.
Shift Differential
This is a 24/7 position and would be eligible for shift differential.

Qualifications :Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
Current Minnesota RN license and certification as a ACNP or ANP preferred.
FNP certification, prefer hospital-based nursing experience in Hem-Onc/BMT, ICU, Cardiology or Internal Medicine.
Or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
Must be eligible for DEA registration.
Additional Qualifications :BLS and ACLS required prior to start date.
