Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Collision Technician to join our auto-body repair team. The Collision Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition following collisions or other damage. This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to the highest quality standards and customer satisfaction.
What youll do:
- Inspect vehicles to assess damage and determine the best repair strategies.
- Disassemble vehicles as needed, documenting parts and damage for repair plans and estimators.
- Repair or replace damaged structural components, body panels, bumpers, fenders, and trim using approved techniques and tools (welding, pulling, measuring, etc.).
- Fit, align, and reassemble repaired or replaced parts to vehicle frames and bodies.
- Straighten frames and unibody structures using computerized measuring systems and frame machines.
- Grind, sand, and finish repaired areas in preparation for refinishing or paint.
- Work closely with estimators, painters, and other shop personnel to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of repairs
- Follow all safety procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and shop protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs completed and report any hidden or supplemental damage to supervisors.
- Keep work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
What youll bring:
- Proven experience as an auto body or collision technician (I-CAR, ASE, or OEM certifications a plus).
- Strong knowledge of vehicle structures, body repair methods, and shop equipment.
- Ability to use welding equipment, frame machines, and electronic measuring systems.
- Proficient in reading estimates, repair orders, and parts diagrams.
- Keen eye for detail and quality workmanship.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and maneuver heavy parts as required.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Reliable, punctual, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
