Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Penetration Tester to join our cyber defense team. You will be responsible to delivery of testing to determine whether infrastructure components, systems, and application meet confidentiality, integrity, authentication, availability, authorisation, and
non-repudiation standards. You report on testing outcomes and activities. You provide recommendations and manages stakeholder expectations. You ensure compliance with assessment and testing standards, processes, and tools. You develop organisational testing capability and support knowledge management. You are well versed with cyber security standards, protocols and frameworks, and have sound knowledge of various testing applications and services.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address security vulnerabilities.
- Actively search for security vulnerabilities in applications and networks, reporting issues and proposing possible solutions.
- Lead and conduct penetration tests on web applications, services, infrastructure, networks, and mobile applications to discover and exploit vulnerabilities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members in developing technical frameworks for attack and penetration test engagements.
- Develop or enhance penetration testing manuals and procedures as required.
- Create scripts/tools to automate discovery or exploitation using languages such as bash, Python, or JavaScript.
- Deliver the annual penetration testing plan.
- Identify areas requiring improvement in security education and awareness for users.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills in penetration testing methodologies and
tools. - Manage assigned tasks from the Line Manager.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or related field.
- Additional certifications in Information Security or Penetration Testing are preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in penetration testing with strong analytical skills, capable of utilizing complex data to identify opportunities, recognize problems, and draw logical conclusions.
- Proficiency in penetration testing tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, etc.
- Experience in manual attack and penetration testing.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in teams within defined timelines.
- Familiarity with multiple operating systems, particularly Windows and Linux.
- Understanding of general network and system architecture.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript, Java).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
