Key Responsibilities:

  • Selling the company's Freight Forwarding, Air, Ocean, Customs Brokerage & 3PL services, and associated products in the VIC, SA marketplace; focusing on new business opportunities in particular.
  • KPI (Total weighting 100%): New business added (Export) 40%, New Lanes from existing customers 50%, 3PL 10%.

Key Activities:
Gaining New Business for the Company:
- By attending sales visits to potential customers
- By identifying new lanes from existing customers
- By following up on sales leads received from overseas offices or through local sources
- By identifying new business opportunities
- By meeting KWE Australia's KPI's
Obtaining rates from internal sources and overseas offices/agents for specific business:
- In response to requests for quotes by clients, prospective clients, or sales personnel
General Maintenance of Client Files and Records:

- Prospective Client Files Existing Client Files
- EDI Sales Module (Database):
- Preparation and submission of weekly sales planners Prepare report(s) for sales meetings
- Ensure client information is maintained and updated in EDI
General:

- Attend Sales Conferences and Meetings, preparing reports & presentations as directed
- Other duties and tasks reasonably requested by your manager

Other Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the sales process through the sales pipeline, so as to achieve the best outcomes possible for the company in terms of gained business
- Establish and maintain a meaningful target account portfolio, achieve targets, and share outcomes with management
- Maintain close contact with current key customers, so as to achieve business growth goals and objectives
- Provide regular and timely updates on activities to management
- Ensure timely, attentive and appropriate communication with internal and external customers, and ensure effective resolution of service issues

Reporting:

- Report sales outcomes to management as required
- Report KPI outcomes and statistical results as required
- Document customer calls in the Excel Spreadsheet provided
- Ensure customer details are kept updated in EDI

About You:
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent customer service ethic
- 4-8 years of experience in Freight forwarding industry
- Ability to work effectively within, and contribute to a team environment
- Positive attitude
- Sales experience is preferred but not essential
