Assistant F&B Manager

Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Salary: USD 800 per month

Reports To: General Manager

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant F&B Manager to support the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant.

The successful candidate will undergo approximately 2–3 months of training and transition with the General Manager. After the training period, the candidate will be expected to take the lead in managing the restaurant's day-to-day operations and become the Head of the Restaurant, with overall responsibility for service quality, staff management, customer satisfaction, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in managing the daily restaurant operations.
  • Supervise and lead the restaurant team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and maintain high hospitality standards.
  • Handle customer concerns, complaints, and feedback professionally.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and service standards.
  • Manage staff schedules, attendance, performance, and daily assignments.
  • Train, coach, and motivate restaurant staff to improve performance.
  • Ensure proper food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and workplace safety standards.
  • Monitor inventory, stock levels, wastage, and ordering requirements.
  • Assist in controlling food and beverage costs and minimizing operational waste.
  • Coordinate closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth food production and service.
  • Monitor daily sales, cash handling, and operational reports.
  • Assist in developing promotions and initiatives to increase restaurant revenue.
  • Maintain restaurant SOPs and ensure all staff follow company policies.
  • Conduct regular team briefings and operational meetings.
  • Assist the General Manager with administrative and operational reporting.
  • Identify operational issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Build a positive, professional, and team-oriented working environment.

Training and Transition

During the first 2–3 months, the Assistant F&B Manager will work closely with the General Manager to:

  • Learn the restaurant's operations, systems, menu, and standards.
  • Understand staffing and team management procedures.
  • Learn inventory, purchasing, cost control, and reporting processes.
  • Understand customer service expectations and company policies.
  • Take increasing responsibility for daily restaurant operations.

Upon successful completion of the training period, the candidate will take primary responsibility for managing the restaurant as the Head of the Restaurant. 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in F&B, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality operations.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, hygiene, and service standards.
  • Experience in inventory and cost control is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts when required.
  • Good command of English; Khmer language ability is an advantage.
  • Hospitality, Hotel Management, Business, or related qualification is preferred.

Key Success Criteria

The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate the ability to independently manage the restaurant after the 2–3 month training period, maintain high service standards, lead the team effectively, control operational costs, and contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the restaurant.
