Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Sales Leader – Healthcare & Life Sciences with deep expertise in the UK healthcare and life sciences ecosystem. The ideal candidate will drive strategic growth, manage large enterprise accounts, and expand market presence across NHS, private healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences organizations.
This role requires a strong understanding of UK healthcare structures, regulatory environments, and technology-driven healthcare solutions, along with proven leadership and enterprise sales capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the sales strategy for Healthcare & Life Sciences clients across the United Kingdom.
- Drive revenue growth through new business development and strategic account expansion.
- Build and maintain senior-level and executive relationships with:
- NHS Trusts
- Integrated Care Boards (ICBs)
- Private healthcare providers
- Pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences organizations
- Lead complex enterprise sales cycles, including solution positioning, RFP/RFQ responses, pricing, contract negotiations, and deal closures.
- Collaborate with pre-sales, delivery, and product teams to design technically viable, compliant, and scalable solutions.
- Mentor, coach, and manage sales teams to achieve revenue targets and build a strong pipeline.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the LSHC sector.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipelines, forecasts, and reporting.
- Submit regular sales performance reports to leadership.
- Ensure ethical sales practices and compliance with regulatory and governance standards.
- Stay current on clinical data, healthcare industry trends, competitor activities, and patient needs through market research and industry events.
Technical & Domain Expertise (UK Focus)
- Strong understanding of the UK healthcare system, including:
- NHS
- NHS Trusts
- Integrated Care Boards (ICBs)
- Private healthcare providers
- Proven experience selling Healthcare IT, Digital Transformation, Data & Analytics, Cloud, and AI solutions.
- Knowledge of EHR/EPR systems, healthcare interoperability, and data platforms.
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards, including FHIR and HL7.
- Strong understanding of UK healthcare regulations and compliance, including:
- GDPR
- NHS Digital standards
- Data governance and information security
- Exposure to Life Sciences domains such as pharmaceuticals, biotech, clinical data, and revenue management is a strong advantage.
Required Experience & Skills
- 15–20 years of sales leadership experience in Healthcare & Life Sciences, preferably in the UK market.
- Proven success selling enterprise IT services, digital solutions, or consulting services to healthcare and life sciences clients.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to engage CXO-level stakeholders and public-sector decision-makers.
- Proven ability to manage large, complex deal cycles.
- Experience using CRM tools, preferably Salesforce.
- Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
