Solutions Architect

We are currently recruiting a Solutions Architect for a reference client in the Financial Services sector, based in Porto.

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and integrating application architectures across existing platforms, ensuring clear and scalable solutions that align with enterprise standards and business objectives. You will work closely with the head of solution management, product teams, and enterprise architects in Europe, acting as a one-man show while coordinating with multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality architectural solutions. You will also support the adoption of AI-enabled solutions and cloud technologies, helping to build local AI competency within the Porto hub.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain end-to-end application architectures and integration patterns across cloud (Azure/AWS) and on-premises ecosystems;
• Collaborate with enterprise architects and European solution architects to align on standards and future architecture directions;
• Create clear architecture diagrams and maintain documentation in Jira and Confluence;
• Support environment setup including DNS, firewall, and network concepts in compliance with GDPR, DORA, and enterprise governance;
• Lead discovery and implementation of AI-powered solutions using Azure AI, M365 Copilot, and Power Platform;
• Ensure solutions follow ITIL/ITSM principles and enterprise governance, and maintain application data quality;
• Coordinate and communicate architecture decisions to multiple teams, ensuring alignment across product, infrastructure, and business stakeholders;
• Act autonomously to plan, design, and deliver architectural solutions, providing guidance and recommendations to teams;
• Ponctual travel to Germany may be required.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or Senior Engineer in large enterprise environments;
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure required, AWS desirable) and enterprise application integration;
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML solutions, Power Platform, and Copilot Studio is a plus;
• Proficiency with CI/CD, Git, APIs, SDLC, ITIL/ITSM, and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Application Insights, or Datadog;
• Experience with secrets vaults including Azure Key Vault, CyberArk, or Hashicorp Vault;
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and architecture diagrams;
• Strong communication skills, autonomy, organizational capability, and ability to align multiple teams and stakeholders;
• Analytical, detail-oriented, results-driven, and comfortable working independently in a multicultural environment;
• Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus.
