Role Introduction
Reporting to the Manager – People Development & Engagement, the role of the Assistant Manager is responsible to design, develop, and deliver effective training programs for the business. The incumbent is also responsible for supporting the strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations of the People Development and Employee Engagement functions within the organization. This role involves designing and implementing programs, initiatives, and processes to enhance employee experience, learning and development, and overall organizational culture.
Key Responsibilities
Training & People Development
- Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and learning opportunities to upskill and develop employees at all levels.
- Manage and organize annual compliance-related training, as well as licensed renewal training (e.g., first-aider certification, green card, etc.) to ensure regulatory and organizational standards are met.
- Design and develop course storyboards and templates; create video production including audio and video editing in SCORM.
- Coordinate and facilitate employee onboarding, orientation, and mentorship programs to ensure smooth integration of new hires.
- Implement effective performance management and career development processes, including goal setting, feedback, and career planning.
- Engage in the talent management process to enhance staff competency levels to support business growth.
- Support management in talent identification and review, learning and development, and succession planning.
- Manage and maintain the company's learning management system (LMS), and the training library/record/file.
- Coordinate training logistics and related administration works.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design to develop effective and engaging training programs.
People Engagement
- Assist in the development and execution of the organization's employee engagement strategies, aligning with overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with the HR team to identify and address key employee engagement needs.
- Organize and oversee employee recognition and reward programs to foster a culture of appreciation and motivation.
- Analyse employee feedback, such as engagement surveys and exit interviews, to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate interventions.
- Promote and support the organization's diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to create an inclusive work environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate engagement initiatives into various business processes.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to management on the effectiveness of engagement programs.
- Provide logistic support on staff engagement initiatives.
- Assist in carrying out different HR projects and handle other ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience with hands-on experience in training content development and delivery, people development, employee engagement, or HR generalist role.
- Strong understanding of best practices in talent management, learning and development, and employee engagement.
- Excellent business acumen, being able to connect theory to practice.
- Team player with strong relationship-building and influencing skills, innovative and agile.
- Proficient in MS applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation and facilitation skills to effectively engage with employees at all levels.
- Digitally savvy, with experience working as a regional/local LMS Administrator. Proficiency in Articulate 360 is preferred.
- Adaptable and proactive in identifying and addressing emerging people-related challenges.
- Passion for creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
- Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Senior Officer - People Development & Engagement.
