Role Introduction

The Senior Engineer (Audio-Visual Sound) will be the key person responsible for the operations of the AV Systems at the Sports Park Venues. These include, AV IP network, PA Networks, In-stadium video distribution system network, electronic way finding system network, IPTV and many others. This position is operationally responsible for setting up AV sound equipment like microphones, speakers, audio control systems as well as networking devices and connections at Kai Tak Sports Park to the highest possible standard. This position will collaborate with various venue departments like marketing, operations, IT, security, facilities, etc. to execute events and improve venue experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, set up, and operate sound systems for various events, ensuring optimal sound quality and coverage.
  • Collaborate with event organizers, performers, and other technical staff to understand and meet their audio requirements.
  • Conduct sound checks and make necessary adjustments to ensure the best possible sound quality during events.
  • Monitor and maintain sound levels during events to ensure compliance with venue regulations and prevent noise disturbances.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any sound-related issues that may arise during events.
  • Maintain, repair, and upgrade sound equipment as needed to ensure it remains in excellent working condition.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest sound technology and techniques, and make recommendations for system improvements.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of sound equipment before and after events.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of sound system setups, equipment inventories, and maintenance records.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and best practices related to sound equipment and its operation.
  • Partner with broadcast teams and media partners to enable AV solutions for live productions, interviews, and content distribution.
  • Coordinate with promoters, entertainment teams, and production crews to provide AV tech and live event operational support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Sound Engineering, Audio Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sound Engineer, preferably in a live event setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of sound systems, audio equipment, and sound mixing techniques.
  • Proficiency in using Dante, Cobranet and other relevant software.
  • Excellent ear for sound and ability to make quick, precise adjustments during live events.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy sound equipment.
  • A keen interest in the sports venue industry and innovation in the technical kit, actively seeking information and sharing internally with the team.
