Commercial Plumber - (Hotel Experience)
£250/day DOE + Overtime Self-Employed
Location: London (working across hotel sites)

Job Description

We are recruiting for a self-employed Commercial Plumber who has at least 5 years experience working in hotels. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, takes pride in high-quality workmanship, and relishes the autonomy of running their own schedule. Serving a well-established plumbing and heating business (head office in Maidstone), you will be responsible for commercial plumbing across Londons hospitality sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out plumbing maintenance, repairs, and installations in hotel buildings
  • Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues swiftly (e.g., leaks, damaged pipework, faulty fixtures)
  • Maintain and service hotel plumbing infrastructure (bathrooms, kitchens, plant rooms)
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to avoid downtime in high-usage areas
  • Coordinate with hotel management to schedule work around guest operations
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, building regulations, and gas safety (if applicable)
  • Complete job documentation: work reports, certificates, test records
  • Respond to call-outs and emergency plumbing issues when needed

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years commercial plumbing experience, specifically within hotel environments
  • Fully qualified plumber (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • Gas Safe registration is highly desirable; experience with commercial gas systems a strong advantage
  • Own your tools and van (role is self-employed)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities
  • Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented demeanor

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 08:00 17:00
  • On-call for call-outs / emergency work as needed
  • Flexibility required to manage urgent hotel plumbing issues
