Job Description:
Assistant Manager
£32,000 £36,000 + Tips
Cranleigh
We’re on the lookout for an experienced Assistant Manager to join a well-loved country pub tucked away in the Surrey countryside. This isn’t a chain or a corporate-run venueit’s a place that takes genuine pride in its seasonal food, local ales, and community atmosphere. If you're someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership role and enjoys the buzz of a busy service, this one’s worth a read.
About the Role
This is a proper front-of-house leadership role. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with the management team to run smooth, energetic services whether it's a packed Saturday night, a wedding party in the barn, or a peaceful weekday lunch with the regulars. You'll help train and lead the team, make sure service feels personal and polished, and step in wherever needed to keep things running like clockwork. It’s the kind of role where no two days feel the same, and where your influence genuinely shapes the guest experience.
About the Client
This independent pub is slightly more on the modern side, being established in 1908turning them into relaxed, quality-focused destination. The pub itself has been sympathetically restored, retaining its character while offering guests a menu built on thoughtful, local sourcing. The team here genuinely care about what they do, and that same care extends to how they treat the people who work with them. The company was set up by our partnered clients, both with huge experience in hospitality, having worked our way up from washing plates some 20 years ago. 40 years of combined experience, both still very in touch with the industry and wanting to do things with a fresh perspective.
