Job Title: National Business Development & Bid Writer
Salary: £35,000 £45,000 per year
Location: UK Nationwide (covering regional and national accounts)

About the Role

This is a dual-position role with two key focuses: Business Development and Bid Writing. Youll be responsible for generating profitable new business across the UK while also leading the planning, writing, and delivery of tenders from start to finish.

Youll use your networking skills, industry insight, and commercial thinking to expand the companys footprint, build meaningful partnerships, and secure long-term contracts. At the same time, you will manage the entire bid process from PQQ to ITT ensuring all submissions are accurate, persuasive, and delivered within the required deadlines.

This role directly contributes to the companys national growth and requires someone confident representing the business at all levels.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday

  • Standard office hours

  • Nationwide travel required for client visits, presentations, and site meetings

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the full national sales function

  • Write and coordinate technical and non-technical tender responses

  • Generate new business opportunities across multiple sectors

  • Identify and target new clients and revenue streams

  • Manage each stage of the bid process (PQQ, ITT, technical responses)

  • Conduct nationwide client and site visits

  • Present proposals and negotiate contracts with decision-makers

  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships

  • Support strategy planning for national supplier agreements

  • Manage KPIs and client expectations

  • Maintain bid documentation, portals, and knowledge databases

  • Deliver presentations and represent the company at a senior level

Key Requirements

  • Strong teamwork ethic

  • Proven experience writing bids and tenders

  • Previous sales or technical sales experience (engineering or similar industries preferred)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and close sales

  • Strong understanding of engineering or lift-service environments (desirable)

  • Experience using tender portals

  • High level of organisation and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines

  • Strong administrative and IT skills

  • Full UK Driving Licence
