Job Title: Production Foreman Custom Manufacturing (Confidential Employer)
Location: Port Coquitlam, BC
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday

About the Opportunity:
A growing and respected custom manufacturing company in Port Coquitlam is looking for an experienced Foreman to lead daily production operations in a dynamic, fast-paced shop environment. 

As the Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing daily workflow, coaching staff, resolving shop floor challenges, and ensuring quality standards are met. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives on accountability, continuous improvement, and effective communication across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Task Coordination

  • Supervise and direct daily activities of the shop team to meet production goals

  • Assign tasks according to skill level and project needs

  • Provide real-time guidance to resolve workflow obstacles

  • Monitor and report progress to upper management

Onboarding & Staff Development

  • Lead onboarding and orientation for new employees and visitors

  • Deliver ongoing coaching and training

  • Ensure all training and safety documentation is completed and filed

Communication & Conflict Resolution

  • Act as the communication bridge between staff and management

  • Resolve minor disputes and promote a positive work culture

  • Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager for goal alignment

Quality & Safety Assurance

  • Inspect products and processes for quality compliance

  • Enforce health and safety standards

  • Oversee equipment maintenance and shop safety

Resource & Inventory Oversight

  • Monitor resource allocation and minimize downtime

  • Assist with purchasing, receiving, and inventory control

Performance Monitoring

  • Audit staff performance and competencies

  • Support in reviews and staff development planning

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; Red Seal or trade certification is a strong asset

  • 3+ years experience in a lead role within a construction or manufacturing environment

  • Proven ability to read blueprints and technical drawings

  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills

  • Proficient with ERP systems and shop floor tools
