Job Overview

The Government Relations Specialist will be responsible for managing and coordinating the company's relationships and activities with relevant government authorities in Thailand. This role will ensure smooth communication with government agencies, support regulatory compliance, and provide government affairs assistance for company operations, projects, and business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with relevant government authorities, including the Board of Investment (BOI), Labor Department, Customs Department, and Industrial Estate authorities.
  • Coordinate, consult, submit, and follow up on government-related applications, requests, and matters to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate government inspections, site visits, official meetings, and external receptions, working closely with internal departments to ensure proper preparation and smooth execution.
  • Manage the application, renewal, maintenance, and follow-up of government licenses, permits, certificates, and related documents.
  • Monitor changes in Thai laws, regulations, government policies, and regulatory requirements, and provide timely updates and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and resolve issues, inquiries, and requirements raised by government authorities, ensuring appropriate and timely follow-up with internal departments.
  • Maintain accurate government affairs records, documentation, and databases, and monitor the progress of key government-related matters.
  • Provide government affairs support for major company projects, factory operations, investment activities, and business development initiatives.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure government-related requirements are properly understood, coordinated, and implemented.
  • Support other government affairs and administrative matters as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Public Relations, Business Administration, Law, Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Government Affairs, Government Relations, Public Relations, Corporate Affairs, Administration, or a related function.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, factory, or industrial estate environment is highly preferred.
  • Good knowledge and practical experience in dealing with Thai government authorities, particularly BOI, Labor, Customs, and Industrial Estate authorities.
  • Good understanding of Thai laws, regulations, government procedures, and regulatory requirements relevant to business operations.
  • Existing relationships or professional networks with relevant government authorities would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication, coordination, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, follow-through, and execution with the ability to manage multiple government-related matters simultaneously.
  • Good interpersonal and external communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both government officials and internal stakeholders.
  • Flexible and adaptable to work arrangements involving government offices, site visits, inspections, and other external activities.
  • Good command of Thai and English; proficiency in Chinese would be an advantage.
