Introduction

A global service provider is recruiting a Russian-speaking Interpreter to join their fully remote team in Portugal. In this role, you will facilitate communication by providing accurate oral interpretations between Russian and English across various sectors. This position requires a high level of linguistic precision and the ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive conversations.

Your Role

• Conceptual Rendering: Accurately convey concepts and meanings between Russian and English, maintaining the appropriate tone, style, and clarity.
• Grammar & Syntax: Uphold strict rules of grammar and syntax in both languages to ensure professional communication.
• Detail-Oriented Interpretation: Provide complete renditions of messages, including every detail of the conversation, without omission or addition.
• Call Management: Manage the flow of interpretation calls effectively while following customer instructions and avoiding taking over the conversation.
• Specialized Terminology: Understand and apply protocol and terminology across key industries, including Insurance, Legal, General Medicine, and Forensic Medicine.

Your Qualifications

• Languages: C1 level proficiency in both Russian and English (oral and written).
• Education: High School Diploma is mandatory; a degree in languages, translation, or interpretation is a strong advantage.
• Skills: Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Intercultural Competence: Ability to explain cultural concepts to prevent miscommunication.
• Professionalism: Capable of staying detached, neutral, and objective regardless of the conversation content.
• Attributes: Reliable, autonomous, highly disciplined, and organized with strong time management skills.
• Eligibility: Must hold EU citizenship or a valid Portuguese work permit.
