Ukrainian-Speaking Over-the-Phone Interpreter (OPI) – 100% Remote (24/7 Rotational Shifts in Portugal)

Are you a fluent Ukrainian speaker with exceptional communication skills and a passion for facilitating cross-cultural understanding? We are seeking dedicated and articulate professionals to join our remote localization team as Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI).

This position offers complete flexibility to Work From Home (WFH) from anywhere in Portugal (mainland or islands), operating on a continuous 24/7 operational coverage schedule to assist critical global services.

The Role

• Real-Time Interpretation: Deliver accurate, consecutive interpretation between Ukrainian and English over the phone, maintaining clear, neutral tone and precise language fidelity.
• Multi-Sector Support: Serve as a vital linguistic bridge across diverse sectors, including emergency medical triage, healthcare consultations, legal assistance, humanitarian services, insurance claims, and public administration.
• Cultural Sensitivity: Accurately convey meaning, context, and emotional nuance while remaining strictly impartial and objective.
• Confidentiality: Strictly adhere to international privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA) and maintain absolute discretion regarding sensitive, confidential calls.

Working Model & Location

• Location: 100% Remote (Must be residing anywhere in Portugal).
• Schedule: 24/7 Rotational Shift Pattern (includes morning, afternoon, night, weekend, and holiday coverage to ensure round-the-clock service availability).

Requirements

• Language Proficiency: Native or near-native level of Ukrainian, alongside a high level of professional proficiency in English (C1/C2 level).
• Legal Status: Must hold an EU Passport or a valid Residence / Work Permit / Temporary Protection Status in Portugal (with active NIF and NISS).
• Technical Workspace: Dedicated, quiet, and private home office workspace equipped with high-speed internet (direct Ethernet connection required).
• Skillset: Strong active listening, rapid cognitive processing, high emotional intelligence, and calm composure under high-pressure or emergency calls.
