Information Security Engineer – Space & Aerospace Technology
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and analytically driven Information Security Engineer to join a major European space and aerospace technology group in Bremen, Germany. In this high-impact, mission-critical role, you will contribute to the cybersecurity and information security architectures of advanced satellite systems, ground infrastructures, and large-scale European space programs. You will bridge the gap between cutting-edge aerospace engineering and stringent security compliance, safeguarding technologies utilized for Earth observation, space exploration, and secure communications.

Your Role & Responsibilities
- Security Architecture: Develop robust information security concepts and dedicated security architectures for complex space missions and ground segment projects.
- Compliance & Standards: Define, deploy, and monitor technical and organizational security controls in absolute alignment with customer, regulatory, and project-specific security frameworks.
- Engineering Support: Act as the core cybersecurity consultant for cross-functional software, systems, and hardware infrastructure engineering teams.
- Vulnerability Management: Perform comprehensive security assessments, identify systemic vulnerabilities, and architect actionable mitigation pathways.
- System Hardening & Automation: Contribute to the deep hardening and secure configuration of corporate and project-based Linux and Windows environments using automation scripts via Ansible, PowerShell, and Python.
- Research & Innovation: Participate in advanced aerospace studies and innovation projects focused on emerging security technologies, advanced cryptography, resilient infrastructure architectures, and secure satellite communications.
Your Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or a equivalent professional experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, information security management, or systems security engineering.
- Framework Expertise: Strong familiarity and practical deployment knowledge of major security standards, specifically ISO 27001 and BSI IT-Grundschutz.
- Technical System Skill: Solid background in Linux and/or Windows system administration.
- Automation (Strong Advantage): Practical knowledge of infrastructure scripting, secure code principles, and configuration automation tools is highly preferred.
- Core Traits: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with a passionate interest in working inside a highly regulated, mission-critical environment.
Languages Required
- English & German (Professional working proficiency for internal engineering and strict regulatory documentation workflows).

- Base Salary: €70,000 – €90,000 per year (depending on experience).
