Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Planner to join our Nuclear Project teams. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and preparing work packages for large- and small-scale projects. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, technical troubleshooting abilities, and a solid understanding of nuclear power plant work management and safety regulations to ensure projects are executed safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will also support construction quality assurance activities and promote a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare work instructions and work packages for electrical and contract maintenance organizations.
  • Select and approve procurement of materials needed for work package execution.
  • Conduct field walk downs to ensure work package quality and compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with Work Management, Supply, Operations, and Engineering to resolve work package issues.
  • Facilitate package preparation including regulatory and safety documentation such as OOSs, RWPs, welding permits, fire impairments, ALARA task outs, and quality hold points.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, inclusive, quality-focused work environment by performing STEP and CRM observations and providing feedback.
  • Inspect construction installations, ensure Inspection and Test Plans are followed, and perform Construction Quality Surveillances on in-process field work.
  • Assist in planning construction activity sequences to meet schedule and budget requirements, and monitor progress versus schedule.
  • Identify installation problems, develop solutions, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support site management in construction contract administration and change management processes.
  • Conduct meetings including pre-bid, contractor orientation, and project status updates.
  • Maintain knowledge of OSHA, environmental regulations, construction practices, and electrical installation standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.

Qualifications & Skills

MUST HAVE NUCLEAR PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Required Education and Experience

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years of experience in a technical area (e.g., maintenance, engineering, operations, or maintenance planning).
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university and eight years of experience in a technical area.
  • High school diploma or GED with technical training or education equivalent to an in-grade apprenticeship program in maintenance-related work and six years of experience in a technical area.
  • High school diploma or GED and ten years of experience in a technical area.

Required Abilities and Skills

Candidates must demonstrate the following:

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Ability to obtain Planner I qualification.
