Job Summary

We are seeking a Site Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical systems and components at a nuclear power generation facility. This role will provide engineering oversight, troubleshooting, and technical guidance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant systems. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in mechanical system performance, and the ability to work across multiple disciplines in a regulated nuclear environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for mechanical systems, components, and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Perform system health monitoring, trending, and analysis to maintain and improve equipment reliability.
  • Support outage and on-line work activities, including troubleshooting emergent equipment issues and evaluating proposed modifications.
  • Review and approve engineering design changes, calculations, and technical specifications for compliance with industry codes and standards.
  • Develop and revise procedures, work packages, and technical documents to ensure regulatory and safety requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, and Work Management to resolve technical challenges and improve system performance.
  • Participate in root cause evaluations, corrective action development, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations (ASME, ANSI, NRC requirements, etc.).


Required Education and Experience

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (required).
  • 3+ years of engineering experience (power generation, nuclear, or other highly regulated industry preferred).

Candidates must demonstrate the following:

  • Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in both outage and on-line plant conditions.
  • Proficiency with engineering analysis tools and standard office software.
  • Knowledge of industry codes, mechanical design principles, and equipment reliability practices.
