Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager Nuclear Projects to join our team. In this role, you will independently manage complex, multidiscipline nuclear projects and programs typically valued under $10 million. You will lead project teams of over ten people, providing strong leadership and project management expertise in nuclear facility operations. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience in managing nuclear power plant projects, including refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line work, ensuring safety, quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project activities for refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line work as assigned.
- Provide oversight of planning, leading, controlling, and monitoring activities to ensure work is executed safely, with quality, on schedule, and within budget.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams, establishing project priorities and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and manage project budgets, including tracking costs versus budget for assigned projects.
- Coordinate and maintain frequent communication with clients, engineering teams, vendors, senior management, and other project stakeholders.
- Develop and manage contracts; interface with vendors to support project success.
- Prepare and deliver written and oral communications to various groups, including senior management.
- Develop and maintain project schedules commensurate with project complexity and size, managing risk, tracking progress, and ensuring accountability.
- Support effective implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
- Provide outage support, including Operations Control Center (OCC) activities.
- Coach and mentor other project managers; act as a delegate for supervisors/managers as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
*MUST HAVE NUCLEAR PROJECT EXPERIENCE*
Required:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university, and fourteen (14) years of experience in a technical field;
- OR an AA/AS degree and sixteen (16) years of experience in a technical field;
- OR a High School Diploma or GED and eighteen (18) years of experience in a technical field.
- Project Management certification is required.
- Experience managing complex nuclear projects, including on-line work management and refueling/forced outage activities at Commercial Nuclear Power Plants or similar facilities.
- Advanced knowledge of error reduction, human performance improvement methods, and cost-effective work execution methodologies.
