Our client, a leading organisation within financial services, dedicated to providing innovative solutions and exceptional services is hiring for a Group IT Infrastructure Configuration Manager to join their dynamic team and play a crucial role in managing the groups infrastructure's IT assets, configurations, and changes.
As Group IT Infrastructure Configuration Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising the IT asset management, configuration management, and change management processes within the group infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams ensuring integration with the other IT Service Management processes such as Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management and the efficient utilisation of IT changes seamlessly, aligning with the business objectives.
The Role:
- Take ownership of developing the Configuration & Asset Management operation, encompassing strategy, personnel, processes/policies, and necessary tools.
- Create, implement, and communicate the service asset management policy and standards.
- Monitor asset lifecycles, ensuring timely replacements or upgrades when necessary.
- Establish and maintain a robust configuration management database (CMDB) for the group infrastructure.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all hardware and software configurations.
- Implement configuration baselines and standards to enhance system stability and security.
- Collaborate with IT teams to assess and manage configuration-related risks.
- Change Management:
- Develop and enforce change management policies and procedures to minimise disruptions and risks during IT changes.
- Review and approve change requests, ensuring alignment with business goals and minimal impact on operations.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to plan, schedule, and execute changes.
- Perform post-implementation reviews and analysis to measure the success of changes and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, best practices, and internal policies related to asset, configuration, and change management.
- Generate regular reports and KPIs to provide insights into asset utilisation, configuration compliance, and change management effectiveness.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements to existing processes.
- Work closely with IT teams, including infrastructure, operations, and support, to ensure seamless integration of asset, configuration, and change management activities.
- Provide guidance and support to team members and stakeholders on best practices and standards.
The Person:
- Demonstrated experience in the IT technical field and service management, highlighting your ability to navigate complex IT environments.
- Proven track record of leading Service Asset and Configuration Management initiatives in challenging environments.
- Strong subject matter expertise in IT Service Management, showcasing your deep understanding of service delivery principles.
- Experience with various IT Service Management toolsets such as Service Now, Intune, End point central, and ServiceDesk+.
- Previous involvement in multi-domain, multi-forest based complex environments, ideally with experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and network integrations.
- Up-to-date knowledge of assets and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) models and methodologies.
- A clear understanding of service organisations and how deployments impact CMDB.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and conveying complex information clearly.
