Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Fintech Startup
Location: Egypt-Cairo
Reporting To: CEO
Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our fintech startup. The ideal candidate must bring strong financial fundamentals, proven startup experience, and the ability to build and lead a finance function from the ground up. This role requires a strategic thinker who is equally comfortable executing operationally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and build the finance function, establishing scalable processes, systems, and controls
- Oversee all financial activities including FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and cash flow management
- Manage and develop banking relationships and oversee all financing activities
- Provide strategic financial insights to support business growth and decision-making
- Ensure financial reporting accuracy, compliance, and alignment with regulatory requirements
- Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team on company strategy, fundraising, and investor relations
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team
Candidate Profile – Mandatory Requirements
- Age: Must be in their 30s
- Experience:
- Must have strong finance fundamentals
- Must have prior experience within a startup environment, preferably fintech
- Hands-on Capability:
- Must be comfortable operating at both strategic and execution levels
- Must have experience building finance functions from scratch or scaling them
- Leadership:
- Must have experience leading finance teams and managing core finance functions
- Functional Expertise:
- Must have proven experience overseeing FP&A, budgeting, treasury, and banking relationships
- Education:
- Must have a strong academic background in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, ACCA) are highly preferred
